Calculate your Army GT

Your entries stay in this page. LineScore Prep does not save or transmit the raw scores you enter.

Use official inputs

The Army formula is GT = AR + VE. AR is Arithmetic Reasoning. VE is the military’s weighted Verbal Expression composite, derived from Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension. Do not replace VE with an AFQT percentile, a practice percentage, or WK plus PC.

If your record is confusing, use Where to Find AR and VE on Your Score Report before calculating. A serving Soldier can start with the testing information in the Soldier Talent Profile and ask the installation education center or Personnel Testing office for the complete official score record when the intermediate values are not visible.

Three examples

AR 54 and VE 56

The calculated GT is 110. That satisfies a 110 score gate, but it does not establish complete eligibility. Confirm the remaining requirements with the office receiving the packet.

AR 49 and VE 56

The calculated GT is 105, leaving a five-point gap. Do not assume all five points must come from AR. Run separate AR, WK, and PC diagnostics. A narrow arithmetic weakness may make AR the fastest route, while repeated vocabulary or passage errors can point toward the abilities behind VE.

AR 45 and VE 48

The calculated GT is 93, leaving a seventeen-point gap. A longer foundation phase is more realistic than immediately scheduling an AFCT. Build arithmetic fluency, daily vocabulary retrieval, and evidence-based reading before adding full timed sessions.

What 110 can open

A GT of 110 currently satisfies the score component for the Army Green to Gold Scholarship and Hip-Pocket routes and the general Army Warrant Officer eligibility standard. It does not guarantee selection or make a Soldier eligible for every program or MOS. Medical, rank, education, service, clearance, command, and program-specific requirements can still apply.

GT also is not the only Army composite. A target MOS or program may use another line score or a combination of requirements. Use the MOS requirement verification method instead of relying on an undated table copied between websites.

What your result does not establish

This calculator performs the published arithmetic only. It does not authenticate a score record, predict a retest result, list every current career option, or replace a career counselor or packet authority. Requirements change, so verify the current official program page and the office accepting your packet.

The calculator also does not convert LineScore practice accuracy into official scores. Official testing uses standardized and equated subtest results. A practice percentage is useful for identifying weaknesses and tracking performance across fresh questions; it is not an AR, VE, AFQT, or GT score.

The fastest useful path

  1. Confirm the exact program and current score gate.
  2. Find official AR and VE values and calculate the actual gap.
  3. Take separate AR, WK, and PC baselines.
  4. Group misses by topic and reason rather than total score.
  5. Put most practice time into the weakest input while maintaining the strongest.
  6. Retest with distinct questions and compare several sessions on different days.
  7. Confirm local AFCT eligibility and paperwork before scheduling.

For a complete schedule, use the six-week Army GT 110 study plan. It includes different approaches for small and large gaps, a diagnostic error log, readiness criteria, and a packet checklist.

Privacy

The raw AR and VE values entered above stay in the page and are not saved to an account. If optional Analytics has been accepted, the calculator records only a broad result category and the size of the gap—not the two scores entered. Declining Analytics leaves the calculator fully available.
